Asthma Versus Tuberculosis

Asthma is a chronic disease that occurs when there is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes that is caused either by a specific particle in the air called an allergen, or a nonspecific particle called an irritant. Once the tubes become inflamed the breathing pathway is restricted, and as the pathway becomes more and more restricted, one typically begins to panic. This is what is known as an asthma attack. The thing about asthma is that it is a very different disease from one person to the next. The way that it affects you will not be the same way that it affects your neighbor. When seeking out, it is crucial to find a treatment that works best for you. is a chronic lung disease that causes episodes of difficult breathing. Asthma symptoms are caused primarily due to constriction, tightening of the muscles surrounding the airways, and inflammation, soreness, swelling and irritation of the airways in the lungs.
While tuberculosis is a potentially serious infectious disease that primarily affects your lungs, spread from person to person through tiny droplets released into the air. Most people who become infected with the bacteria that cause tuberculosis don't develop symptoms of the disease. People might have the bacteria in their bodies; however they won’t develop any symptom unless their immune system is compromised. In other words, testing Tuberculin a positive tuberculin reaction only means that you were exposed to the bacteria, it DOES NOT mean that you have an infection in your lungs. Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease usually affecting the lungs. Other parts of the body can also be affected, for example lymph nodes, kidneys, bones, joints, etc. And it’s spread through the air when a person with untreated pulmonary TB coughs or sneezes. Prolonged exposure to a person with untreated TB usually is necessary for infection to occur.
